German fans can rest easy in the knowledge that they will be able to watch their team at this summer’s World Cup in bars and outdoor areas after it was announced that the government will suspend noise pollution levels for the duration of the tournament.

It had been a problem waiting to happen in Germany as games will often kick off at 10p.m. local time, but Environment minister Barbara Hendricks said that public viewing is “simply part of a World Cup.”

The avoidance of noise ramifications will come as a huge boost to a set of fans that are expecting their national team to perhaps at least reach the semi finals of the sport’s biggest competition.
