PSG managed a run to the quarter finals of last season’s Champions League and Maxwell, their 32 year-old Brazilian left back, has spoken of their desire to go even further in 2014, in a year that could see him make his World Cup debut on home soil.
A mainstay of the French club’s recent revolution, Maxwell told newspaper Le Parisien: “The quarter finals last year left us feeling like we were unfinsihed. It would be a great victory for us if we were to do better.”
“We’re playing a game of such importance so we study every detail, whether it’s Leverkusen or a more famous club. We have to qualify.”
“When you move to a big club like PSG, the responsibility as a player is always huge. The pressure is too. It’s up to us to live up to our expectations.”
