PSG captain Thiago Silva has praised weekend opponents Monaco for grabbing a deserved draw in the top of the table clash in the principality that keeps them within touching distance of Ligue 1’s pacesetters.
A 1-1 stalemate was completed when the Brazilian scored an own goal on Sunday evening but Thiago put a positive spin on proceedings. He told his club’s website: “PSG are a great team with lots of quality but Monaco are also a very good team and they defended very well.”
“We just lacked a little something extra in this game.”
“For the goal, I knew there was an attacker behind me and I wanted to clear the ball, but it didn’t go my way. It was just one of those things.”
