New Inter Milan recruit Hernanes is worth every penny of his  €20million transfer fee from Lazio, according to a report on goal.com, which suggests the 28 year-old Brazilian midfielder can be at the forefront of a salvage mission at his new club.

With 23 caps, and 2 goals to his name for the Selecao, Hernanes has always been a contender to be a part of recent Brazil squads, but his importance to former employers Lazio suggests that there may be a World Cup call up in the offing.

Having equalled Pavel Nedved’s record of 11 goals by a Lazio midfielder, (which Hernanes managedin 2011), Inter are buying a player with an eye to goal and an ability to win silverware.

The Brazilian won the Coppa Italia with Lazio in 2012 and was a part of the squad that won the Confederations Cup in the summer of last year.

hernanes also won the Player of the Year in Brazilian club football in 2008 whilst at Sao Paulo.
