Manchester United and Brazil defender Rafael is delighted to be back from injury and has talked about how playing in England has changed him.

The 23-year-old has been in England for six years, since joining from Fluminense’s youth team and has enjoyed great success.

He missed three matches in a row recently but has been involved in United’s last two fixtures and told the Manchester United official website how difficult it was being out injured.

“It’s good that I’m back from injury, obviously the results haven’t been particularly good, but I’m happy to be back playing again.

“When you are injured you can’t help out, I saw the team lose two games (Spurs and Swansea) and there was nothing that I could do. You’re always looking to get back on track and help the team to win.”

The young right back also talked about how he has had to change his game since moving in 2008.

“Since I arrived at United it’s changed completely for me. When I was back in Brazil you may play the same amount of games over a season but not at the same intensity. I’ve started to deal with that since I came to United.

“I’ve changed a lot since coming here, I’ve changed my mentality. I’ve played in the English league for six years and of course you have to adapt. I’ve had to alter slightly the way I play.”
