Internacional forward Ignacio Scocco has been linked with a move to English Premier League side Sunderland according to reports in British newspaper the Daily Mirror.

The Argentine forward was linked with a move to Sunderland in the summer but the Black Cats were put off by the £4 million price tag his former club Al Ain were asking for at the time.

In the end the 28-year-old moved to Internacional but he’s failed to settle and rediscover the form, which made him one of the most talked about attackers during the summer.

Scocco’s performances with Newell’s Old Boys during the 2012/13 season were sensational and his 24 league goals helped them reach the final of the Argentine Primera Division.

He was also a major success in the Copa Libertadores scoring six goals in 12 appearances but since joining Colorado he has only found the net four times.

The Brazilian club are now interested in loaning out Scocco to the English side and representatives of the forward hope the Premier League club renew their interest.

A return to Newell’s or Argentina in general is Scocco’s preferred choice according to Lance but Internacional would only be interested in a permanent deal with fellow South American clubs.

The question remains whether any club from his homeland could afford his £3 million asking price and it seems a move to Sunderland may be best for all parties involved.
