Cagliari are ready to bid for Flamengo midfielder Luiz Antônio, according to O Globo.
The website claims the Sardinians are hoping to take advantage of a disagreement between Flamengo and Luiz Antônio to secure a deal for the 22 year-old. who is reportedly unhappy at missing wages.
Cagliari are already strongly believed to have agreed terms to sign another Flamengo player, midfielder Adryan, which could make any negotiations for Luiz Antônio easier to conclude.
Cagliari are expected to be in the market for various reinforcements this January. Owner Massimo Cellino has already confirmed star midfielder Radja Nainggolan will be sold, while the squad at head coach Diego López’s disposal lacks depth.
Luiz Antônio was a regular at Flamengo last season, scoring one goal in 32 appearances.
