Barcelona new-boy Neymar is set to make his league debut at Camp Nou against Levante on the opening day of the season.

The 21-year-old joined Barca for €57 million earlier this summer and could kick-off his career in front of the home fans on August 17.

The Liga champions will then head to Málaga as they look to defend last season’s title, which they won with a record-equalling total of 100 points, set by rivals Real Madrid the season before.

In the new fixtures, which were announced on Tuesday morning, it was revealed that the first El Clasico of the season will be held on the weekend of October 25.

The Catalan giants will host Madrid and new coach Carlo Ancelotti first, before the return game at the Santiago Bernabeu on March 22.

Neymar’s first official appearance for the club is expected to be in a friendly against former club Santos, which was agreed as part of his transfer.

The game will take place on August 2 and a return match will be played at the Vila Belmiro on a yet to be confirmed date.

The teams will compete for the Joan Gamper Trophy, an annual event played at the Camp Nou to mark the beginning of the new season.
