Saudi Arabian club Al Shabab have called off their pursuit of Ronaldinho, branding the Atlético Mineiro playmaker overpriced and uncontrollable.

The 33-year-old had been linked with a move to Asia after Al Shabab revealed that they were looking into the possibility of signing him.

However, after hearing of Ronaldinho’s €6 million valuation, the club have back-tracked on their interest and even slammed the Brazil international’s attitude.

“We wrote back to Ronaldinho’s agent last week and declined his offer,” the club’s vice-president Khalid Bu Humaid told Gulf News.

“He’s just overpriced and the second thing is his attitude off the field. If they could not control him at Barcelona then he can’t be controlled at Dubai.”

Ronaldinho has just under six months remaining on his current deal in Brazil.
