Paris Saint-Germain"s star Thiago Silva has affirmed he plans to return to his former club Fluminense one day.

Thiago Silva played for the Tricolor from 2006 to 2008, getting nicknamed the monstro (monster) for his talent.

He was named the best centre-back of the Brazilian national league in 2007 and was called up for the national team for the first time in 2008.

The defender hopes to return to Fluminense one day, he told Rede Globo: “I will wear this [Fluminense] shirt again one day.

“When I had tuberculosis, it was Fluminense that helped my dreams become possible again."

Thiago Silva joined AC Milan in 2008, after leaving Fluminense, quickly becoming one of the club"s best players.

He has been playing for Paris Saint-Germain since last year, and has been linked with a move to Barcelona although a deal is unlikely to happen.
