According to the Mirror newspaper in the United Kingdom, Vasco da Gama centre-back Dede will find himself at the centre of a summer transfer battle between fierce rivals Liverpool and Manchester United.
It was revealed by Vasco director of football Cristiano Koehler earlier this week that the club anticipate Dede’s exit this summer and are believed to prefer a sale to Europe.
Dede has been the focus of much recent transfer speculation involving Copa Libertadores champions Corinthians. However, for now, Vasco have hold firm over a sale.
With the player himself now thought to favour an exit from the São Januario, and Vasco in dire need of a boost to their ailing finances, a £15 million move in the summer is being touted for the Brazil international.
Dede had been expected to play some part in this week’s international friendly fixtures with Italy and Russia, but has returned to Brazil after suffering with a virus in recent days.
