David Luiz claims he is willing to play in midfield or defence as long as it helps Chelsea win games.
The Brazilian has been deployed in defensive midfield to compensate for the lack of defensive options available at the club with Jihn Obi Mikel off to the African Cup of Nations and Oriol Romeu injured.
Luiz, 25, said: “I don’t mind being involved in a different way – I just try to help the team.
“I was a playmaker or striker up until the age of 16-17. I love to score and I think I can help the team get goals from corners, penalties or free-kicks.”
Luiz is known for his fun-loving nature and admits jokes dominate his thoughts a little too much.
He added: “My brain works a bit too much on jokes. I love joking with everyone at the club, but I also have respect for them.
“The best thing in the world is when you’re happy and you laugh.”
