Queens Park Rangers midfielder Shaun Derry has heaped praise on goalkeeper Júlio César after the Brazilian pulled off a wonderful double save to ensure his side could earn a 0-0 draw against Andre Villas-Boas’ Tottenham side.

Derry, who started the game alongside Stéphane Mbia and Park Ji-Sung in the centre of midfield, played his part in the draw, but it was César who will grab the headlines.

The former Crystal Palace midfielder still believes that the Superhoops can escape relegation this season, despite lying four-points from safety post-match.

“Unbelievable, what a save that is,” said Derry. “I suppose that’s why we’ve got him in the team but it’s about 11 players out there today. It was an unbelievable effort.

“This time last year we were putting in results against the big four or five and now we’ve beaten Chelsea and got a point here so it’s great for us.

“Our season has been the best part of disastrous until a few weeks ago, but we’ve got the win away at Chelsea and then a draw with Tottenham. We’ve got Man City coming so we’ve got to really build on this and get out of trouble.”
