Internacional have parted company with manager Fernandão just two rounds before the completion of the Brasileirão 2012.
The former striker saw his team suffer a third straight league defeat on the weekend and continue their slide backwards in the race for fit place and a possible Copa Libertadores spot.
The former Inter idol had only been in command for four months, during which he managed the team in 26 games: winning nine, drawing eight and losing nine.
Unfortunately for Fernandão, mid-table is not seen as acceptable by the Colorado board, despite finishing the season with a much depleted side from that which began the campaign – through both injury and player sales.
Until a replacement is appointed, Osmar Loss – coach of the club’s Under-23 side – will take command of the Porto Alegre giants, who currently lie eighth in the Brasileirão.
On Sunday, Inter face Portuguesa before a derby encounter with fierce rivals Grêmio on the final day of the season, 2 December.
