Former Brazil international Rivaldo is considering retirement from football following an injury whilst playing for Kabuscorp in the Angolan domestic league.
Rivaldo, who moved to the club earlier this year, has intense pain in both of his shoulders following a fall.
The incident, which has left Rivaldo with bruising to his right shoulder and ribs, has ruled the midfielder out of the final games of his side’s campaign.
The club’s medical staff have asked the 40-year-old to undergo seven to 10 days of physiotherapy in order to recover, but Rivaldo is considering calling it a day on his career.
Rivaldo posted on Twitter: “With this injury, the season is practically over for me in Angola.
“I have to think if I stop playing or if I continue for another year.”
Rivaldo has scored 11 goals in 15 appearances since moving to Kabuscorp in January, following a short spell at São Paulo.
The former Barcelona star won the Ballon d’Or and was named World Footballer of the Year in 1999, and also contributed to Brazil’s 2002 World Cup success.
