Brazil left-back Marcelo has suffered a sprained ankle and is a doubt for the Seleção’s game with Japan on Tuesday.
The 24-year-old, who had to leave training early on Sunday because of ankle swelling, is currently awaiting test results to see if he will be fit for Tuesday.
Mano Menezes will be in a difficult situation should the Real Madrid man be ruled out as both Dani Alves and Porto’s Alex Sandro are also injured and did not travel to Poland.
With no other natural left-backs in the squad, and as Menezes is unable to make an emergency call-up, the national coach may have to improvise by using Adriano on the left and bringing in Dede or Leandro Castán to play on the right.
The training on Sunday was closed, as Menezes attempted to adjust positions and rehearse tactics for the game against the Japanese.
The players were then divided into three groups to focus on technical work, which is when the injury to Marcelo occurred.
After two comfortable wins over Asian sides, 8-0 against an under strength China and 6-0 against Iraq, Brazil will be hoping for another good result against Japan in Wroclaw.
