Adriano, 30, has now missed training on four occasions since re-joining Flamengo in late August, despite repeated warnings about his conduct and professionalism.
The publication by the O Dia newspaper of a video showing ‘the Emperor’ in a Rio de Janeiro night-club until 3am the previous evening, attending an MC Ticão event, will do little to aid his already delicate situation at the Rubro-Negro club.
“I found out on Friday morning, but no-one at Flamengo commented on the absence,” said club physiologist Claudo Pavanelli to Lancenet!.
“Now, it’s more difficult and we’ll have to wait and see what happens. At the club, we have only had informal conversations – nothing official.”
There is now speculation over Adriano’s future with the Rio de Janeiro side, with the expectation that this may be one misdemeanour too many since his return to the club.
Director of football Zinho, who has been a vocal supporter of Adriano and last week persuaded him not to retire, is yet to comment on the matter.
