Brazil captain Thiago Silva has praised Kaká following the playmaker’s recent recall into Mano Menezes’ Seleção squad.

The 30-year-old has been called up, for the first time in two years, for upcoming friendlies with Iraq on October 11 and Japan four days later.

Kaká has struggled in recent seasons, due to a number of injuries and a loss of form, but Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva believes the former AC Milan star still has what it takes.

Thiago told Globo Esporte: “He’s a player who can make a difference. He has made football history.

“He was not the best in the world for nothing, he already showed his quality on the pitch. It will be another player to share responsibility.

“There is a lot of pressure, he has experience and will help us a lot.”

Thiago Silva also spoke about Kaká’s life at Real Madrid, where he has struggled for game time under José Mourinho, but he doesn’t think this will be a problem.

He added: “Kaká hasn’t played much for Real, but he was called because the coaches are confident in his work.

“With this call-up, I hope he will get more opportunities at Real Madrid. He is a good guy and I hope this return will help us on our way to the World Cup.”
