São Paulo 1-0 Atlético Mineiro

Luis Fabiano scored the only goal and was later sent off as São Paulo moved into sixth place with a 1-0 win over Atlético Mineiro at the Morumbi.

Fabiano found the back of the net in the 41st minute, giving his side their third win along with two defeats.

 

Palmeiras 1-1 Vasco

Vasco’s 100 per cent record in the Brasileirão came to an end at Palmeiras.

Mazinho fired the hosts into the lead 10 minutes after the half-time break, but Juninho Pernambucano fired in a trademark free-kick 7 minutes from time.

The results means Vasco still lead the table by two points, while Palmeiras, who have yet to register a win this season, lie in eighteenth.


 

 

Flamengo 1-0 Santos

Flamengo managed to scrape a 1-0 win against a second-string Santos team in Rio de Janeiro.

After a goalless first half at the Engenhão, Argentine substitute Dario Bottinelli converted an 87th minute penalty after Ibson was hacked down by Gerson Magrão.

 

Bahia 2-1 Sport Recife

Bahia managed to register their first win of the season against visiting Sport Recife.

Elias fired the home side into the lead in the 14th minute, but Bruno Aguiar equalised in the 69th minute. However, Fahel headed the ball into the back of the net five minutes from time to send Bahia up to fourteenth in the league.

 

Ponte Preta 1-0 Corinthians

Ponte Preta managed to record their first victory of the season against their local rivals Corinthians.

The Timão have yet to win a game this season, and André Luiz’ 41st minute goal proved to be decisive in Campinas.

The result means Corinthians remain at the bottom of the table with just one point, while Ponte Preta have jumped up to thirteenth place.

 

Coritiba 3-0 Atlético Goianiense

Coritiba ran out 3-0 winners against Atlético Goianiense at home. The Coxa’s goals came courtesy of Pereira (24′), Marcelo (71′) and Tcheco (73′).

The result moves Coritiba up to eleventh, while Atlético-GO lie in nineteenth place.

 

Náutico 1-0 Grêmio

After twenty one years, Náutico finally managed to beat Grêmio at the Estádio do Afiltos. Ronaldo Alves scored the only goal of the game in the 90th minute.

The result means Náutico have now leaped up to tenth in the table, while Grêmio sit in fifth position.
