Juninho Pernambucano will turn thirty seven on the 30th January, but isn’t ready to hang up his boots just yet as he hopes be a part of the Vasco squad that will compete in next seasons Copa Libertadores.

The club directors held a meeting on Wednesday with the vertan midfielders agent, José Fuentes, to discuss a new contract and will hold further talks in the coming days to finalize a deal.

Vasco’s President, Roberto Dynamite, confirmed the discussions are well under way and is confident Juninho will stay on for another season.

”The meeting today went very well, but nothing is finalized because Juninho isn’t in Rio at the moment. He’s agent will tell him what’s been discussed and then we will have another meeting to confirm the renewal,”  Dynamite explained.
