Proposal on the table

According to the UOL Esporte portal, the CBF has received a proposal of almost R$ 1 billion per year to replace Nike, the company that supplies sportswear for the Brazilian national team.

According to the publication, two companies maintain interest in the Amarelinha – Adidas and Puma, and one of them made the proposal that is equivalent to five times more than the current contract with the national team.

The CBF understands that the proposal that has reached the table is the largest proposal from a sports equipment supplier for national teams, and is dealing with caution and attention to the negotiation.

Conditions of a new contract

One of the points that draws attention to the new proposal is the payment of royalties on the sale of national team jerseys.

And the new sports equipment supplier will open stores and share the sales. Nike currently does not do either of these for the CBF.

Contract with Nike

The CBF has a contract with Nike until 2026, and receives about $35 million per year, including the supply of sports equipment, which amounts to around R$177 million.
