Personally, I am very sad that the season will finish this way. Of course there is still a game remaining and there is hope for the Libertadores,” said the young on-loan midfielder.

“I still have six more months, I hope to cool off a little, enjoy the holidays with my family, to return more professional and get things right next year.”

Denilson has struggled with the refereeing in Brazil, picking up three red cards in just the handful of games he has started. Yet, the player feels he has been hard done-by.

“Against Coritiba, I think it was fair, but not the others. I was never violent, I was just trying to do my job, my thoughts are always to help.

“There have been difficult moments, but I know that I must lift my head up and be useful. I know my ability and I can help a great team,” he continued.
