The future of ‘the Gladiator’ is still up in the air, and the player’s agent is trying to work on a deal to take the combustible striker away from the Palestra Italia, following a bust up with Manager Luis Felipe Scolari.

“Obviously, we are concerned,” said ‘The Foxes’ incoming President. “Any negative impact affects us.

“But in the case of Kleber, as the interest of other clubs is very large, I believe that there is little danger.

“We have 50% of his economic rights, so we have every interest in everything that is happening with him.”

For now Kléber cannot leave Palmeiras for another Brazilian club until 2012 and given Cruzeiro’s already substantial claim to the striker, it is understandable that they are being linked with a move for next campaign.

However, Tavares was quick to downplay talk for now, saying it it was not ‘the right time’ for this discussion.
