The game had actually started brightly, with Wellington Nem picking out Ygor in the centre for the home side. The latter’s header flying just wide.

While, just a few minutes later, Coritiba’s Léo Gago found Tcheco just outside the area before the attacking midfielder curled a placed effort just wide once more.

From this point on, the chances dried up and although Figueirense were comfortably on top, the game was broken up by too many fouls from both sides. Wellington Nem threatened for the Santa Catarina side, but there were few chances of note.

Home coach Jorginho brought on forward Somália at the break in an attempt to liven up proceedings, but the impact was minimal.

Coritiba came back into the game late on with an Everton Costa run down the left and a Tcheco effort the highlights, but in truth it was a terrible match with little of note.

Both teams will write off this round and move on to the next game, with the two sides comfortable in mid-table.
