He was forced to leave the field after only 20 minutes, and as a result was not named in Mano Menezes’ squad for Brazil’s upcoming friendly matches against Costa Rica and Mexico.
An official club statement read: “AC Milan communicates that the tests which Alexandre Pato underwent this morning showed damage to the biceps muscle of the right thigh. The prognosis is for a recovery period of about four weeks unless there are complications.”
