The goalkeeper Felipe is one of the leaders of the team who are suffering bad form as they prepare for their next match against high-flying Vasco da Gama at the weekend.
Felipe believes the side need more attitude and can’t keep using the change in manager as an excuse for failure.
Felipe commented: “We must have more attitude and we need to make better decisions in the match. At the weekend, we have to be able to press against Vasco and achieve victory.
“The fans must attend and encourage. They have never been more important. No use going to shout at us during and after the match as fans must encourage us.
“Surely with the incentive, we’ll have piece of mind to play better and come away with the victory we need.”
Cruzeiro are currently sitting in 15th position in the league and only four points off the relegation zone. Last season seems a long time ago now when they finished runners-up in the league and a change in manager has meant Emerson Avila is under pressure.
