Coritiba 1-0 Corinthians

Corinthians poor form continued with defeat at Coritiba, who should have taken the lead in the first half through Jonas.

Chicao went close from a free-kick for Corinthians, but it was the hosts who scored the only goal of the game, when Rafinha’s cross was knocked back across goal for Jones to head in from close range.

The visitors almost equalised in the fifth minute of injury time, but Willian’s effort was saved. Corinthians have only picked up twelve points in their last eleven games, but remain top of the table.

Flamengo 1-3 Bahia

Struggling Bahia picked up a shock win at Flamengo, with all four goals coming in the first half.

Titi fired the away side in front from six yards after a corner was not cleared, but Flamengo levelled through a deflected free-kick from Renato.

Some intricate passing play allowed Dodo to put Bahia back in front, and they made the game safe with the final goal on the stroke of half-time, with Souza heading in from inside the six-yard box after a goalmouth scramble.

Palmeiras 1-1 Cruzeiro

Luan put Palmeiras ahead with 20 minutes remaining, firing in the rebound after seeing his first shot parried away by the goalkeeper.

Cruzeiro’s equaliser came with five minutes left. Walter Montillo shook off the attention of his marker and fired in from a tight angle for his 11th goal of the season.

Palmeiras are in sixth place while Cruzeiro are 11th.
