Ricardo Teixeira is suspected in the disappearance of £3.5million (nine million reales) in 2008. The sum came from public funds and was paid to Ailanto Marketing, a Rio de Janeiro Based company to organise a friendly game against Portugal.

“These nine million took an unknown direction,” a commissioner for the investigating party told CBN.

The affair is not only a Brazilian issue, it affects FIFA and could probably be the latest scandal in a series of corruption accusations of high ranking officers. Teixeira and Sepp Blatter have been allied for many years within the organization. And Teixeira was expected to take over FIFA when Blatter would step down.
