It all seemed to be going to plan for Corinthians when they took the lead through Emerson after half an hour. However, Avai stormed back in the second half, with goals from William Souza (49′) and Rafael Coelho (58′ and 81′). Jorge Henrique pulled one back for the visitors in injury time, but it was not enough to prevent a surprise defeat.
Atletico Paranaense 3-2 Santos
Santos have slipped into the relegation zone after another defeat, this time away to Paranaense. The home side raced into a 2-0 lead thanks to Cleber Santana (6′) and Manoel (9′). Neymar (13′) and Borges (63) responded for Santos and looked to have earned the side a point, but a last minute winner from Marcinho gave Paranaense all three points.
Sao Paulo 0-2 Vasco da Gama
Vasco moved to within one point of Sao Paulo by defeating them last night. Their goals were scored by Eder Luis (51′) and Felipe (90′).
