“I think the World Cup is a communication problem,” mayor Eduardo Paes told World Football Insider. “It is twelve cities. Rio is on time. The problem is much more services than infrastructure.
“I think the problem of services will be ready by 2014. The Maracana is going fine. The World Cup is much easier to do than an Olympic Games, at least from a city view. But it’s a fact there are some delays because of different levels of government in the cities.”
Along with Rio, the eleven other cities that will host the World Cup in Brazil are Brasilia, Cuiaba, Manaus, Fortaleza, Natal, Salvador, Curitiba, Porto Alegre, Belo Horizonte and Sao Paulo.
