Ronaldinho only focused on Atlético Mineiro's title race and not contract negotiations
Atlético Mineiro playmaker Ronaldinho has revealed he is only focused on the Brasileirão title race and not contract negotiations.
Atlético Mineiro are currently in second place, six points behind Fluminense, and Ronaldinho insists he is only thinking about the final eleven league games and not renewing his deal.
The 32-year-old’s current deal is set to expire at the end of the season and the former Seleção international will only start thinking about his future then.
He said: "I have not yet thought of a plan at the moment, I will think that at the end of the championship.
"My only plan is to do my best for the team and to fight to the end for the title. Therefore I cannot think of anything else. I have to help my teammates. "
The former Barcelona and Milan playmaker also spoke about his intentions of using his experience during the final run-in, which includes a game against the league leaders.
He added: "It is time to use my experience.
"It is a moment that everyone loves to play. I'll try to do my part and use the experience I gained over all these years."
Ronaldoinho and Atlético Mineiro are in action later this evening as 19th-placed Figueirense visit the Mineirão stadium.
