Saint-Étienne striker Brandão believes his side can go far in Ligue 1 if they continue to play like they did during their 4-0 win over AS Nancy on Friday.

The 32-year-old was making his first league start since joining the club from Marseille in August and found the net within 10 minutes of kick-off.

Brandão scored Saint-Étienne’s first and third goals with headed efforts, which he believes is one of his strongest assets.

He said: “Everybody knows my heading game is my strong point. It has allowed me to have a beautiful evening.

“I feel good here in this group and club. Everyone spoke well of me when I arrived and I talked a lot with [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang. He listens to me, which helps us to play well on the ground.

“If we play like we did against Nancy, Saint-Étienne can go far in this championship."

The Greens are currently seventh in Ligue 1, after eight games, and have only lost one of their last six games.

Their next game is a trip to Nice in two weeks time, where Brandão will be hoping for another starting place in Christophe Galtier’s side.
