Alisson Becker has been at the top of European football for years. This is his sixth season at Liverpool, where he has secured an eternal place as a club legend by winning both the Premier League and the Champions League, among other titles.

Furthermore, he can take pride in boasting a significant number of caps for the Brazilian national team, with World Cup appearances included. However, the goalkeeper seems to have an unfinished task, which is to play at Boca Juniors’ stadium in Argentina.

Playing at La Bombonera, Alisson’s dream

“Alisson has always told me that his dream is to play at La Bombonera, so he is someone I talk to quite a bit,” said Alexis Mac Allister in dialogue with ESPN. The Argentine moved to Anfield last summer, and in a short time, he learned of his teammates’ interest in his former team.

“South American players such as Luis Diaz, who played with Junior at La Bombonera, always ask me. Some pretend to support River to go against me, but they ask about Boca quite a lot,” added the world champion in 2022.

However, Mac Allister admitted that he warns other players about the difficulties of moving to Argentine football: “Especially to South Americans, I tell them, for Europeans, it’s complicated to come to the country. I tell some of them that we’ll return together, but they are all identified with their clubs and countries. Hopefully, some of them can play for Boca, but we’ll see about that.”
