Roberto Firmino will only stay at Liverpool until the end of the European season and, therefore, interested clubs have already made contact with his representatives. Corinthians and Internacional exchanged information with the 31-year-old striker’s staff, however, both negotiations have not progressed yet.
According to “UOL Esporte”, Timão and Colorado did not send official proposals. They’re just trying to understand what the requirements would be. The player, in turn, does not rule out playing in Brazil in the coming months, but the first option is to continue playing for a European club.
Firmino is disputed in Spain and Italy
Even down at Liverpool, where he has 10 goals and five assists in 29 games this season, the number 9 continues to be positively evaluated by clubs in the main European leagues. Atlético de Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Napoli, Inter Milan and Milan are pointed out as possible destinations for the Brazilian.
Corinthians and Internacional still face two other countries in the dispute: Saudi Arabia and the United States. Firmino’s decision will likely come after the end of the season as he wants to focus on the Premier League home stretch.
The athlete joined Liverpool in June 2015 and has since scored 108 goals and 79 assists in 356 games. After a start without achievements, he lifted the following cups: Champions League (18/19), FA Cup (22/23), English League Cup (22/23), Club World Cup (2019), Premier League (19/20), FA Super Cup (22/23) and UEFA Super Cup (19/20).
