Santos are going through an unprecedented moment in their history by finding themselves in the Brazilian Serie B. Amid a recovery process, the board reportedly intends to play friendlies abroad to raise more funds and sell its brand to the rest of the world.

In addition to the alleged interest in an exhibition match against Boca Juniors at La Bombonera, Peixe apparently seek to visit the United States and Asia in the second half of the year.

According to Globo Esporte, Santos president Marcelo Teixeira (who won the elections at the end of 2023) believes increasing the club’s image commercially is a fundamental part of the “reconstruction.”

Peixe had the intention of playing in North America in the first half of May, but the clash with Manaus on the 11th made it impossible.

In February, a squad made up of youngsters and outcast players traveled to Qatar to participate in an international friendly tournament. In recent months, the board has reportedly remained in contact with businessmen in the Middle East in search of potential investors and commercial opportunities.
