The Brazilian national team debuted with a victory at the 2024 Gold Cup. This Thursday (22), Brazil defeated Puerto Rico 1-0 with a goal from Gabi Nunes. The forward, who came off the bench in the second half to secure the victory for the national team, analyzed the team’s performance in the match.

“It was a tough game. We knew they would defend a lot, but we managed to fight until the end. That’s what Brazil is about, trying until the end. Of course, we need to improve. For sure, Arthur will talk to us a lot, so we can be prepared for the next game and make better use of the chances we get.”

The player stated that Brazil still needs to adjust the offensive sector but emphasizes that the team is going through an evolutionary process.

“We were a bit anxious in that final third, we know we need to improve in that area, but we will work on it. We are here to evolve. It’s a new year, everyone is getting back to playing, having game rhythm is important.”

The number nine also projected the next match for the Brazilian national team, which will be on Sunday (25), at 00:15 (Brasília time), at Snapdragon Stadium, against Colombia.

“Now it’s about improving. We will try to win against Colombia in the next game. It will be a tough match. We know Colombia surprised at the World Cup, but we are prepared to face them. We are working hard and will have a great game.”
