One of Newcastle"s standout players, midfielder Bruno Guimarães anticipates a great showdown against England this Saturday (23) at Wembley. The 26-year-old player praised coach Dorival Júnior and foresees a quick adaptation to the Brazilian National Team. The friendly marks the coach"s debut in charge of the national team.

“With Professor Dorival, I do things that I practice more in my daily routine, things that are important to me, things that I am used to doing at my club as well. From now on, you will be able to see the Bruno from Newcastle in the Brazilian national team because these are things that we are accustomed to doing more on a daily basis," stated the Rio de Janeiro native midfielder.

“We are getting to know his work, watching many videos about what he intends and trying to quickly seek this adaptation," he added.

The mystique of Wembley

Bruno Guimarães mentioned that the match will have a special significance as it is at Wembley, the main stage of English football.

“They won"t want to lose. Especially since the game is at Wembley, a traditional venue for them, just like Maracanã is for us. It"s not every day you play there. This is another attraction that involves the match," he said.

“The pitch is like a carpet. Two giant countries, with great players, it"s a special stage, we expect victory," the player concluded.

Despite praising the quality of the English team, he believes in Brazil"s success on Saturday.

“This generation [of England] has a potential for a ‘golden generation." I think it will be a great game. Even though it"s a friendly, everyone wants to win," the midfielder concluded.
