Liverpool are reportedly prepared to allow Brazilian Lucas Leiva to join Italian giants Inter Milan on loan in January. Lucas has been limited to just 3 Premier League starts- all at centre half- in the Premier League this season.

Lucas, who has been with the Merseyside club since 2007, almost joined Galatasaray permanently in the summer, only for Jurgen Klopp to cancel the deal. However, reports in the British press suggest the club would allow him to leave for Serie A on loan.

Inter have endured a tough season, but have enjoyed a recent upturn in form since the appointment of Stefano Pioli in November. They currently sit 7th in Serie A. Pioli wants an experienced midfielder with Lassana Diarra, Jon Obi Mikel and Luiz Gustavo all thought to be in the frame.

However, Lucas Leiva is thought to be Inter’s first choice and the Guardian newspaper reports that Liverpool would be amenable to doing a deal. Lucas could end up becoming a direct replacement for compatriot Felipe Melo, who could leave Inter in January to return to Brazil.
