Liverpool attacker Roberto Firmino was arrested in Liverpool on Christmas Eve and was charged with drunk driving. The Brazilian was stopped in Liverpool city centre during the early hours of Christmas morning.
A Merseyside police force spokesman said: “Merseyside Police has charged a 25-year-old man with drink-driving after his car was stopped in Liverpool city centre in the early hours of Saturday. Roberto Firmino, from Liverpool, will appear at Liverpool City magistrates’ court on Tuesday, January 31, 2016.”
Liverpool are due to play against Chelsea on 31st January at Anfield and it remains to be seen whether Firmino’s court appearance will prevent him from taking part in the top of the table clash against the London club.
