Currently with the national team preparing for this month"s Copa América Centenário in the United States, the player leaves his future in the hands of his representatives. Since March, representatives of the player have a ‘letter of intent" from Fiorentina to buy the striker. Ângelo Arquilha, representative of the Italian club in South America, is the man responsible for negotiations.
Meanwhile, Santos president Modesto Roma do not want to pay commission to third-parties, which has been the main obstacle in the negotiations. Another team that still dreams of signing Gabigol is Borussia Dortmund, also through agents. Santos are yet to receive an official proposal for the player, and everything is in the hands of agents, who haven"t taken the transaction forward because of the discussion for commission. The economic rights of the 19-year-old is divided between Santos [40%], Doyen Sports [20%], and the player himself [40%].
