The Brazilian Football Confederation insists on having Barcelona forward Neymar for both the Copa América Centenário in June, and the Olympics in August.
This was the organization’s response to the letter from Barcelona which was sent last week, as the Catalan club wants to release the attacker for just one of the competitions. The desire of Brazil FA was formalized in a new document sent to Spain on Tuesday. After receiving the letter from Barcelona last week, Brazil FA had already stated that they would like to have the player on both competitions. They wanted Neymar to act behind the scenes and talk to the leaders of his club, to facilitate the release. Team coordinator Gilmar Rinaldi and coach Dunga have already drawn up a plan, so that they can have Neymar for the tournaments in United States and Rio de Janeiro. CBF have scheduled a new meeting between the end of this month and the start of next with the board of Barcelona to present their project again. The Spanish press even speculates that Neymar could be rested for the group-stages of the Copa América and just play from the knockout rounds of the tournament, which starts on 16th June.
