Corinthians received, and have already accepted, an offer of €10 million from Chinese side Héběi Zhōngjī to sell Brazilian national team midfielder Elias.
The proposal from China reached the Brasileirão champions three days ago, but the player is yet to accept it. The economic rights of Elias, who has a contract until the end of 2017, are divided equally between Corinthians and Sporting Clube de Portugal. As mentioned in Globo Esporte, the Portuguese club won’t participate in the decision to negotiate the player, but has made it clear to Corinthians that they would like to see Elias sold. On Sunday, Elias had said that he will decide his future in the coming days and from his comments, there’s a good chance of the player leaving Corinthians in January. About the risk of being further away from the Brazilian national team, Elias admitted that the situation is not ideal, but says we must also weigh the financial part.
