Copa do Brasil champions Palmeiras officially announced on Wednesday the signing of 21-year-old striker Érik Lima from Goiás.
Érik will sign a deal for five years at Palmeiras, missing just the medical examinations for the contract to be formalized. Palmeiras will pay €3 million for the purchase of 60% of the economic rights of the player, and Goiás will retain the remaining 40% share. Goiás were relegated to the Série B this season, but Érik, who was elected as the revelation of the 2014 Brazilian Championship, stood out by finishing as the team’s top scorer with 10 goals. Palmeiras have qualifiedfor next year’s Copa Libertadores, and at his new club, Érik will have the chance to play in South America’d biggest club competition.
