Neymar launched on Thursday a custom tournament for amateur players from all over the world.
The Barcelona forward is teaming up with Red Bull to create a 5-a-side street football competition, which will be contested first at local level, then in a national final and lastly in a global showpiece in Praia Grande. Even the player intends to form a team with his friends, but chose four professionals with whom he would like to form an ideal team; they are: Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez, Dani Alves and Thiago Silva.
On Messi, he said: “From the start, Messi helped me a lot in Barcelona, both on and off the field. We have a great friendship and I want to keep playing and become better and better on his side, along with him. He"s the best player in the world."
On Suárez, “Luis is a great player and should"ve been there for the Ballon d"Or. With Luis and Leo [Messi], our secret is that we like to play together, try to play well and have fun at the same time."
On Dani Alves, “When I arrived at Barcelona, he was a partner to me and we developed a beautiful friendship. Dani is one of my best friends in football, so it would be great to have him on my team."
On Thiago Silva, “Thiago Silva is one of the toughest defenders I"ve ever faced and is someone I"ve always admired. He is also a great guy and a great captain."
