18-year-old midfielder Thiago Maia is still negotiating a contract renewal with Santos, but club president Modesto Roma is angry with the player"s representative Juan Figer.
According to Globo Esporte, what irritates Modesto is the behavior of Juan Figer who"s refusing to respond to the club"s contract proposal. In recent meetings, Santos offered a new 5-year deal to Thiago Maia [currently earns €900] and a salary of €18,000 per-month, but his representative hasn"t given an answer which angered Modesto. He has a contract until February 2016, and is free to sign a pre-deal with any club now. Modesto said: “I don"t talk more. For me, it"s over. If you want to stay, then stay. If not, go away, bye!"
Santos own 72% economic-rights of Thiago Maia, and the officials suspect that Juan Figer is trying to take the player out of the club for free at the end of his contract.
