Roberto Firmino has only been at Liverpool for a few weeks but manager Brendan Rodgers is delighted at what he has seen of his new striker.
The 23 year old forward moved from Hoffenheim in late June in a deal worth £29 million. His time at the club has been overshadowed by a long running transfer saga involving Liverpool and Raheem Sterling but Rodgers is happy with how Firmino has settled.
“Firmino’s versatility on the field is important and that is why we chose him. He is an extraordinary talent, he has a beautiful touch of the ball and a good reading of the game. He can play in any attacking position and is a determined character. He has adapted well to European football, which should make the transition to English football easier.”
