Alcohol could soon be back on the menu inside stadiums in the state of Minas Gerais after the state’s legislative assembly voted in favour of a law allowing its consumption.
Excellent news then, for fans of Atlético Mineiro, Cruzeiro and America Mineiro and the state’s other smaller clubs, although tempered slightly by the fact that sales will be limited to concourses and not made in seated areas or terracing.
Critics, however, point to a reduction in violence inside stadiums since the law banning alcohol was introduced as evidence that this will be a backward step.
