Fluminense president Peter Siemsem says Fred is the greatest player in the club’s history. The striker top-scored as Fluminense won the championship in 2012 and again last season and remains on fine form in the current campaign.
Interviewed by Radio Bradesco Esportes, Siemsem eulogised his captain, who has been at the club since 2009, winning two Brazilian championships in and is the sixth leading scorer in the club’s history with 155 goals in 249 games.
He said: “Fred is the greatest player in the history of Fluminense. He is Fluminense’s biggest idol.”
