Former Brazil star Jorginho has publicly backed his former teammate Dunga to remain as coach of the Seleçāo, indicating that the priority should be qualifying for the 2018 World Cup.

“Our friendly matches were good, unfortunately we have not performed well in the Copa America, but nothing is lost. A path has been traced, it is important. We cannot say that everything is negative. The competition was not good but the most important thing is to qualify for the World Cup. I think the best is yet to come. Some players were absent as Oscar and Danilo. Felipão proposed a different system from Mano Menezes for example. If the CBF decide to change the coach, it will be harmful for the qualifiers,” Jorginho told Globoesporte.
