After referee Braulio da Silva Machado sent off Diego Costa for insulting the fourth official, Renato Gaúcho abandoned the game and took the reserve players with him.

Renato’s explanation in the press conference is that it was Jailson Macedo Freitas, the president of the Bahia Football Federation’s Refereeing Commission, who “squealed” on Diego Costa.

According to Grêmio’s coach, Jailson should not even have been there, as he was not part of the match’s refereeing team.
